Holiday

On the holiday I went to the school everyday to shoot some hoops and play spotlight. Spotlight was fun because i was never in and it was fun hiding knowing that the person in is right there. When I was shooting hoops I was insane because I did a 360 ooga booga booga and then I did a full court shot and got it in and my friends paid me 10 bucks. I also did some gaming played among us most of the time it is a game where you get into a space station and you are either a crew mate or an impostor the impostor is supposed to kill the crew mates and the crew mates are supposed to do tasks in order to defeat the impostor. So I played that for ages and I got an impostor once and I won the game because I killed all the crew mates. Its always boring being a crew mate because there is no action and all you do is tasks. My favourite part of my holiday was all the gaming I did but the occasional go outside was alright as.

Workshop 2: Linking themes to the impact of angles, movement and shots

Brainstorm:
Whats happening in this shot ?
Other Wybie standing on stairs outside house. Other mother asks him to smile from doorway, instead he frowns.
O. Wybie making self smaller-less of a target-head down, shoulders hunched. Looks weak and vulnerable.

Angles/shot
High angle-makes Wybie look over-powered, weak and vulnerable.
POV Other mothers, makes her seem stronger, bigger, more dominant.

Viewer
Makes viewer feel sorry for the other Wybie.

Director
foreshadowing-hinting at what is to come.
hinting that maybe the other mother isn't so wonderful.

Other Techniques
Lighting-spotlight on Wybie-like hes on the spot/under focus.
Dark around-creates creepy atmosphere.

In the scene with the other mother and the other Wybie we see high-angle shots used to show the theme 'looks can be deceiving! We see this when the other mother asks the other Wybie to smile and instead he frowns and hunches himself over.  This makes the audience feel sorry for the other Wybie because he looks scared. The use of a high angle shot from the perspective of the other mother adds to this feeling as it makes the other Wybie look weak and vulnerable. The director did this to foreshadow the change of the other mother from creepy to more creepy. Coinciding with this is the use of lighting. A spotlight is on the other Wybie emphasising that he is under the focus of the other mother. This reminds us of earlier in the film where a low-angle shot was used to make Wybie seem big and scary but really he was just ordinary. This links to the scene because it also shows a moment when the look of a character was deceiving.

Brainstorm:
What is happening in this shot
Coraline doll moves and hides to spy on Coraline, Coraline is looking for something.

Angles/shots
Dutch tilt looking from a POV of the Coraline doll
POV Coraline doll POV

Viewer
Gives off a creepy vibe from the Coraline doll
Confused

Director
Foreshadowing-hinting at what is to come
Hinting that the Coraline doll is spying on Coraline

Other techniques
Music to make the scene feel creepier
